GORE-TEX membrane:
A moisture and wind-resistant, "breathable" membrane material. The membrane consists of tiny pores, each approximately 20,000 times smaller than the smallest water droplet, but about 700 times larger than a water vapor molecule. Due to this property, GORE-TEX is widely used in the production of clothing and footwear, as it prevents sweat condensation from forming inside while reliably protecting against external moisture. Typically, GORE-TEX consists of three layers: an outer, abrasion-resistant layer protecting the membrane from wear, a breathable membrane, and an inner layer protecting the membrane from contamination.
